At EDR Fitness, youth training is about more than simply getting a workout in.
We help young athletes and active kids build strength, coordination, speed, agility, body awareness and confidence through structured, age-appropriate coaching. Whether your child is just beginning their fitness journey, wants to become stronger for their sport, or is a competitive athlete looking for an edge, we have a training option designed to meet them where they are.
Located in Ajax, Ontario, EDR Fitness offers youth strength training, sports performance training, private coaching and team conditioning for athletes and active youth throughout Durham Region.
No experience required.
Our Youth Classes give kids the opportunity to learn how to train in a fun, positive and supportive environment.
Rather than specializing in one sport, these classes build the physical foundation that carries over to virtually everything kids do. Athletes work on strength, balance, coordination, speed, agility, body awareness and proper movement technique while learning how to challenge themselves safely and confidently.
These classes are a great fit for competitive athletes, recreational athletes and kids who simply want tobecome stronger and more active.
Families can choose one or two classes per week, billed monthly, with flexibility to select the days that work best for their schedule.

Older teens and young adults who are ready to progress beyond our Youth Classes can train along side the EDR community with our Youth Unlimited Membership.
Members receive unlimited access to our regular EDR Lift and EDR Move classes, giving them exposure to structured strength and conditioning, Olympic lifting, calisthenics, mobility and athletic skill development.
Our coaches provide instruction, modifications and progression based on each athlete's experience and ability, making this a strong option for teens who want to train consistently, become stronger for their sport or simply build lifelong confidence in the gym.
EDR Lift follows structured, progressive training cycles designed to develop strength, muscle, power andconditioning.
EDR Move develops bodyweight strength, mobility, control and skills such as pull-ups, handstands and other calisthenics-based movements.
Some athletes need something more individualized.
Our Private and Semi-Private Youth Training allows a coach to build training around the athlete rather than fitting the athlete into a group program.
Sessions can focus on goals such as strength development, speed and power, movement mechanics, athletic conditioning, technique, confidence in the gym or preparation for the demands of a specific sport.
Private training is ideal for athletes who benefit from one-on-one attention, while semi-private training allows siblings, teammates or small groups of athletes to train together while still receiving individualized coaching.
Youth athletes receive our 15% youth discount on Personal Training.
Bring your team to EDR Fitness.
Our Rep Team Training gives coaches and organizations access to professionally programmed strength and conditioning designed to complement the work athletes are already doing in their sport
Training can include strength development, speed and acceleration, power, agility, coordination, conditioning, movement quality and injury-resilient training habits, with programming progressing overtime rather than relying on random workouts.
We can work with rep, club, school and competitive sports teams throughout Ajax and Durham Region.
Teams can also incorporate combine-style athletic testing and progress tracking, giving athletes andcoaches measurable benchmarks they can revisit throughout the season.
Whether you're preparing for a season, building athletes during the off-season or looking to add structured strength and conditioning to an existing team program, we can create a plan that fits your athletes and schedule.
Sport practice develops sport skills.
Strength and conditioning develops the athlete behind those skills.
At EDR Fitness, we focus on teaching young people how to move well, develop strength, understand their bodies and become confident using the gym. Training is progressed according to age, ability and experience rather than simply giving younger athletes scaled-down adult workouts.
The goal isn't to make every child a high-performance athlete.
The goal is to help every young person who trains with us become stronger, more capable and more confident—whether that carries them onto the field, onto the ice, into another sport or simply into everyday life.
That's okay.
A beginner who has never stepped inside a gym needs something very different from a 16-year-old competitive athlete or an entire rep team.
Tell us a little about your child, their age, experience and goals and we'll help you choose the best place to start.
